VSO Tiny Tots!

My very chic friend Vanessa and I had planned to take our boys on a date. However, we both got tickets at different times. Mommy brain! So Chase & I headed downtown together on Friday morning to take in the fun. As soon as I entered the theater I knew this was the "downtown activity" for families with young kids. The place was packed and they do a show every 1 1/2!!! The show was very cute. Lots of exciting music and dancing for the kids. Chase got very excited when the tuba player came out. I'm guessing that's because he loves Larry the cucumber from veggie tales. Larry plays the tuba in the opening song. That or the low base sound of the tuba and my sons low voice connected in a way this Momma doesn't understand. :)
I would highly recommend you take your kids to this! The show is an hour and it's perfect for all ages.

The only picture I got inside before the lady got mad at me.

Fun with Mum!

Spring is here and life is moving so fast these days! Our calendar is full of celebrations, showers & parties. It's such an exciting season. Yesterday was a very full day. I woke Chase up early to be at the fabric store when it opened. I'm taking a sewing class and I forgot to pick up material for the yoga pants we were supposed to start that night. Eek. Then it was off to Makena's 2nd birthday party! Chase LOVES Makena and was excited that Landon Pue and him got to be with SO many beautiful girls. :) The party was so fun and my darling boy fell fast asleep as soon as we left. I got home cleaned my house and set the table for dinner. My side of the family including my Dad and Uncle from Kelowna all came over. I just love my Uncle Randy! He is the most giving man. Trent & I feel so blessed having him in our lives. He does a lot for us!!! Unfortunately, I had to dine and dash off to my sewing lesson. I didn't get to chat as much as I would have liked to. However, we'll be up at his place most of the summer. Can't wait!
This morning I had to go into Fort Langley to pick up a few things. So I thought I'd take Chase down to see the "bwerds" as he calls it. He LOVES birds and they love cheerios! So whenever Chase is around so are they. Here are a couple of my favorite pics...

I love this picture! Chase is always exploring & I love that about him!
a bit stunned when the train went bye

I love these little moments with him. I'll never stop having dates with my boy! I always want to have my 1 on 1 time with Chase.

Testing

This week my son woke up and decided to enter a new stage...the testing stage! I knew it was coming I guess I was just surprised at how obvious he is about seeing what Mommy will do. On Tuesday he took his drum stick and started hitting the window watching me the whole time with a smile on his face. So of course I got after him. Wednesday he took my make up brushes and mascara and ran them under the water in the bath tub. The whole time giggling and saying "Oh wow!" Again, he got in trouble. Thursday he would run into a room close the door and say "No Mom." Half the time I want to laugh out loud and the other half I want to scream!
He seems to have a lot more energy these days as well. All you experienced parents are probably all rolling your eyes saying "welcome to Toddler-land." Since I'm new at this I'm standing here with my hands on my cheeks, mouth open, wondering where my sweet boy went?
So, I've signed him up for a Toddler dance class. Hopefully that will help burn some energy! Plus, I'm getting down on his level and talking to him instead of just saying "no." When he does something really bad he gets a flick on the cheek. To all you experienced Mommy's...any words of advice? I would love to hear it!

OH I felt the burn!

There are moments in your life when you sit down and think what have I gotten myself into? 30 minutes before my hot yoga class started I had this very thought! I was instructed not to eat dinner because the heat can make you want to throw up and I was supposed to drink as much water as possible before the class so I wouldn't be dehydrated and get a headache. Still a bit naive to the whole situation I hurried off with towel in hand.
As I walked through the glass doors into the class room my lungs filled with steamy, moist air. I met my friend Jamie who greeted me by saying "It's hotter than normal in here!" Oh dear! As the panic started to take over I quietly placed my yoga mat on the floor and wiped the small sweat beads off my forehead. I could do this! After all, I've given birth. This can't be any harder. As the small but intense instructor took her place at the front of the class I felt sweat run all the way down my back. Adorable pro yoga girls all around me started getting into the positions the instructor called out. At this point it was either the panic or heat that took over. Not sure which one but lets just say I wasn't doing things 100% correct. Luckily, I had a pro next to me who would quietly whisper what I was doing wrong and show me how to do it. YEAH!
30 minutes later I lay down on my mat to do some breathing exercises and I think to myself, YES! you've done it! Nice job Trish! See that wasn't so bad. My moment of bliss is harshly interrupted when the instructor yells out "Now that the warm up is over we'll begin the real yoga."
Oh right, this is an hour and a half class. As, I drag my soaking wet body off the mat and into some airplane position I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror. I can't help but laugh! My skin that started the class pale white is now red as a tomato. The cute ponytail I arrived with is now a wet, matted mess hanging at my neck and I can see my belly button through my wet white tank top! What was I thinking wearing a white tank top?!?
When the class finished, I slowly got up. Had I really just worked out in a sauna? I drove home on my already wet towel and ran upstairs to shower. I have to say, after giving birth, that was the 2nd best shower of my life!!!
In all seriousness, it was a really good workout. However, I laughed when they called me this morning to ask when I'd be booking another session!

Dreams

One of my best friends just gave birth to her 3rd baby last night. Of course this got my heart all a flutter with dreams for our family! I love my little Chaser man so much and it thrills me to think of what God has in store for us. I realize if my Mom's reading this she's probably freaking out thinking that Chad & I are trying to have another baby. We're not. I'm just dreaming!
Being a Mom is definitely the hardest job any women will ever do. Your days are filled with teaching, cooking, cleaning, shopping, researching, loving, playing, learning, challenging and working. Then your husband comes home and you listen and encourage him. You find new and exciting ways to stay current and relevant so you have things to talk about with your friends other than diaper rash and potty training! I wouldn't trade a minute of it!!! Being a mommy is the best job I've ever had. So, to all the outstanding Mom's out there...you're my hero's! I pray for you often and admire you.

It's a party!

We celebrated my beautiful sister in laws birthday last Friday night. I had never taken part in a murder mystery party but I loved it! I love dressing up and getting into character. Plus, when everyone else is into it as well the night is fantastic.
Major Glamour!
The stunning birthday girl and her adorable sister.
Don't they look AMAZING together?! Can't wait for their wedding! YEAH!

I have to say my brother stole the show! His version of the inspector had us all laughing. Great job T!!
